Based on the decision of the Ministry of Economy and Transport the area won the title of Industrial Park, with an actual territory of 68,5 hectares, in December of 2005. However, due to increased investor interest in the involvement of other areas were needed. The new territories were evolved in several phases so overall the Miskolc Industrial Park has now been expanded to an area of about 224 hectares (further information>>).
In August 2007, the Hungarian Government declared the Mechatronics Industrial Park development project - of 1.5 billion HUF total costs - to be a flag-ship project. The development was implemented in the course of „New Hungary Development Plan" with 50% subsidisation from the European Union.
Through the project, 39,5 hectares of outstanding logistical and geographical green field area were available with public utilities for investors, which by today operates with more than 80% occupancy rate.
Main objective of the project is to modernize the economic structure of the city of Miskolc and its surroundings. It offers attracting site for investments, thereby it can contribute to increase the competitiveness conditions of the region and to extend the local employment.
